Geografía artists Venese Alcantar and Bonnie Alonzo-Hansen will perform four 1-minute dances that were inspired by some of Erica Saucedo’s choreographic seeds from 2021 that never came to fruition due to a breast cancer diagnosis. These dances explore Cantaloupe Calves, Carne, Mother Labor, Absence, and Ancestors. Come see them in Program B!

Home Body (2026)

Choreographed by Bonnie Alonzo-Hansen and Emily Rushing, “Home Body” explores the body as both a stable and unstable anchor, incorporating sounds and behaviors from our worlds that bring a sense of home in a frequently changing landscape. The process was inspired by the Chicana Feminist notion of "Nepantla," living between worlds, in multiple realities, in a constant state of becoming. “Home Body” premiered at Pilot Dance Project’s 6th Annual Latino/a/x Contemporary Dance Festival at MATCH in Houston, Texas.
